Save Me

The roommate struggle continues. I looked at a very nice townhouse last week. I took the weekend to think about it and then called the girl on Sunday and left a message of confirmation intent on her voice mail. The message included my phone number. She did not call me on Monday, so I called again and spoke with one of her roommates. The roommate took a message that also included my phone number. I received no call on Tuesday. So I called one more time. The conversation went something like this:

"Hello. Is Naomi available?"

"No. Can I take a message?"

"Yes. This is Shawna, I was calling about the room in your townhouse. I called yesterday and she hasn't gotten back with me...?"

"You said your name was... Shawna?"

"Yes.

"Oh, okay. Yeah, Naomi said to give you a message if you called."

"What's the message?"

"Oh! That I'm staying, so the room isn't going to be available."

"Huh. Okay. Well... Thanks."

"Yeah."

Okay. I understand that the room might no longer be available. And I understand that people get busy. But for THREE CONSECUTIVE DAYS, can you REALLY be too lazy to call and let someone know that they don't have a place to live?

That's just downright frustrating. So... The search goes on for gainful housing. If you have any suggestions. If you have any clues. Any leads. Any FRIENDS. Please email me at shawna@cosanostra.net and let me know. Because I don't want to live in a cardboard box. I've never wanted to live in a cardboard box.

Ever.
