I finally managed to keep one for extended period of time. It lasted two years and then basically just... Fell apart. Two years isn't bad for a $19.98 Walmart Special Edition, though.
I liked it so much that I bought another one just like it. And then, after that one died, another one after that. But the after that bit the big one about two months ago.
Let me give you a little background: I was the INSANE timekeeper. Always looking at the watch, always conscious of the time. Always needing to know what time it was. Not just THE time, either. But MY time. The time displayed on my watch. I think it was a strange manifestation of control issues, but here's the kicker:
I keep promising to go out and buy a new one. The closest Walmart is 30 minutes away and I just don't feel like making the drive. So I've been without time strapped to my arm. (My right wrist. Always on the right wrist.) And it's stopped bothering me. The transition was a little easier this time for some reason..
And I think maybe I've let go completely.
