It doesn't often
change."
And while our discussion was 
only of the peculiar
romantic ups and downs of a
mutual friend, I couldn't help but
enlarge the hypothetical 
playing field.
People don't change.
Even if they SEE a
behavioral pattern -
Even if they RECOGNIZE a
disease -
They don't much strive to
change it.
They exert little effort to alter the
unhealthy truths of their
respective universes.
As for the mutual friend...
Yes, he's deeply entrenched in a
cycle of delusional cancer.
But he is only one of the 
many.
